Tara Chand’s cavalcade stoned

JAMMU, Dec 13: People today pelted stones at the cavalcade of Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand at Khour town of Akhnoor tehsil when he was going for campaigning. He is seeking fourth term from Chhamb Assembly constituency having won the seat in 1996, 2002 and 2008.
Reports said the people pelted stones on Scorpio vehicle of Tara Chand at Khour town. Some people also hit the vehicle with their hands. However, no one was injured.
Tara Chand said he spoke to IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand and apprised them of the attack.
Police said they have not received any written complaint from the Deputy Chief Minister or his representative at Khour police station but were investigating the matter on their own.
Tara Chand has blamed one Harnam Chand of Khour for the attack.
Police have not made any arrests so far.
