J&K restrict TN to 254 but slip to 38-4 in reply

DINDIGAL :  Tamil Nadu hit back as its spinners, offie and batting hero Malolan (1) and left arm spinners Aushik (1) and Shah (1) shared the spoils  to reduce J&K to 28-3 in their first innings in reply to the host’s 254 in 76 overs in the second league outing in Group A in the Ranji Trophy cricket championships here today.
The new wicket at a college ground this town famous for making quality locks, had the Tamil Nadu batsmen ‘locked up, as it were, as J &K’s left arm spinner Wazeem Raza scythied through the host’s batting claiming 5-68. Only off spinner Malolan Rangarajan, the team’s starspinner, and tailender down the batting order top scored with 90 off 69 balls with the help of 14 fours. His 50 run stand for the ninth wicket with  R Shah (1 not out) was the only partnership that boosted  the score.
