NEW DELHI : Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a school at Peshawar in Pakistan today in which around 126 people, including more than 100 children, were killed. Ms Mahajan expressed grief at the reportedly high civilian casualties, especially innocent school children. “It is a cowardly and heinous attack against humanity,” she said.
At least 126 people were killed and 122 injured in Pakistan when Taliban gunmen stormed a military-run school in the city of Peshawar, taking hundreds of students and teachers hostage in the bloodiest insurgent attacks in the country in years.
A Pakistani official said more than 100 of the dead were school children.
