Contractual lecturers demand release of salaries

Srinagar, Dec 16: Contractual lecturers of Government Degree College, Ganderbal today protested here demanding release of their pending salaries.
The agitated faculty members raised slogans against Government, saying their salaries have been withheld for more than five months. “The salaries of all the 81 contractual faculty members engaged in different departments not have been released from the month of June,” they said.
They were protesting under the banner of College Contractual Lecturers Association. They said that they were facing immense hardships because of the delay. “Our families depend on us and we are unable to run our families,” they added.
They appealed higher officials to address their issue by releasing their withheld salaries.
