Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Dec 17: Independent candidate from Suchetgarh constituency and Retd SSP, Bhupinder Singh today conducted extensive door to door campaign in  Shere Chak, Mulle Chak, Biaspur Parlah, Rangpur, Rayian Kotli and Khepar villages of the constituency and appealed to the people to vote for his symbol – Scissors- on December 20.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh presented his profile before the people and urged upon them to do an objective assessment of the right candidate. He said, “people are tired of the politics of corruption, nepotism, favouritism, caste, creed, religion and region. It is high time that we allow good people to enter politics”.
“Choice is there in people’s hands to allow good people to enter politics or prevent them”, he said and asked the people to vote as per their conscious and not as per the dictates of some influential people in the villages.
He appealed to the youth not to allow the money and muscle power kill their wisdom and conscious. He invited the attention of the people to the failures of all political parties and said that in the past 12 years Congress, BJP, PDP and NC, all remained in power but none could win the hearts of the people.
He said that people are still cribbing about issues pertaining to roads, electricity, border firing etc and the parties are humiliating them by fielding the old faces who have proved utter failure.
Various retired Government employees extended their full support to retired SSP and appealed to the serving and retired Govt servants to elect him as the MLA as he best understands the problems of the Government servants. The ex-servicemen present in the public meetings also extended their full support to Singh’s candidature.
