Commissioner JMC inaugurates Vatika at Hari Market

JAMMU, Dec 18: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Kiran Wattal inaugurated Vatika (Vishram Garh) at Hari Market.
On the occasion, officers including Kapil Sharma, Joint Commissioner, Asstt Commissioner (Rev), Executive Engineers, Health Officer, Chief Enforcement Officer, Special Asstt to Commissioner, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Asstt Executive Engineers and other field staff of Corporation were also present.
Prominent citizens and traders who attended the inauguration ceremony include Rakesh Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Deepak Agarwal, Vice President, Chamber of Commerce, Rajesh Raina, President Hari Market, Ravi Gupta, President Lower Hari Market, Ashwani, Chairman Upper Gumat Bazar Association, Anil Gupta, President Lower Raghunath Bazar, Rajesh Dewan acting President, Upper Hari Market, Ajay Sharma, President Karan Market, Sunil Sharma, President Residency Road, Pt Durga Dass and Vikas Dawan.
Commissioner while speaking said that the Vatika will facilitate tourists, who were not having such kind of facilities in this area, when they have to take rest after performing darshans of Maa Vaishno Devi and Raghunath Temple.
The Vatika has been constructed at the cost of Rs 19 lakhs which include works like pavement tiling, upgrading of the of brace wall/retaining wall on road side, developing subsidiary park alongwith green pots, besides the basic framework painting/polishing work, he added.
Commissioner remarked that, it is the prime responsibility of the local traders to keep this area neat and clean. The VATIKA was also decorated with the flowers, potable plants and illumination of lights to grace the inaugurated ceremony, he added.
Dustbins were also installed at Vatkia for disposal of unwanted materials, electrification of the area was modified by providing additional 5 number of street lights to provide more illumination to the area, Wattal informed.
