JAMMU, Dec 18: A large number of devotees thronged the Shri Ram Shaiva Trika Ashram Swaran Colony Gole Gujral near here today where two days celebrations of 160th birth anniversary of Swami Ram Ji Maharaj an outstanding Shiavacharya and saint started with full religious fervour and gaiety.
During the two days celebrations, besides the Bhajan Kirtan and religious rituals the lecturers on the philosophy of Kashmiri Shaivism and Shaiv Trika philosophy will be given by the renowned scholars.
The function will culminate on December 19 the birthday of Swami Ji with serving of prashad to devotees.
Swami Ram Ji propagated and taught Shaiva philosophy and revived it when it was in decline by establishing Ashram for teaching of Shiva philosophy at Srinagar in May 1888. This is one of the oldest Shaviat teaching center’s of Kashmir of contemporary times.
