JAMMU, Dec 22: Dr Kasturi Lal, retired Principal of Government Medical College Jammu, leading Gynaecologist and distinguished Gynae Oncologist, has been awarded lifetime achievement award for his contribution in the field of Gynaecologic Oncology at national and international level.
Dr Kasturi Lal, who is presently Director of Lajwanti Medical Trust Hospital, Jammu, was awarded this lifetime achievement award during 22nd annual conference of Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India, recently held at Patna.
This award was announced by the executive committee of the Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India during the AGOI oration, delivered by him.
The organizers described with immense pride Dr Kasturi Lal’s scholarly presentation which provided profound insight in the subject of Gynaecologic Oncology and made a vital contribution to the existing Global professional knowledge in the subject.
In this context it is pertinent to mention here his achievements in founding academic societies and skill development cooperation in Gulbarga, Sewagram and Jammu. He is a founder secretary of National Society of Gynaecologic Cancer with its registered office in Jammu. At present he holds the post of the Chairman of the organization. He has developed a structure of education system where the exercise of training the trainer is being practiced to educate the Indian Gynaecologists to be trained in Oncology through workshops.
Dr Kasturi Lal is founder of NGO Lajwanti Medical Trust, which is interacting with the community through print and electronic media raising various issues of interest for the benefit of public, myths about cancer and cancer control programme.
