NAGROTA, Dec 23: Describing his election to the Legislative Assembly as victory of the people of Nagrota, Provincial President National Conference Jammu and the party candidate from the constituency Devender Singh Rana today vowed to keep up his commitment of development and to meet their expectations with best of his capabilities.
“With all humility and sense of gratitude, I dedicate my victory to the people of Nagrota, who have reposed their faith and trust in me, not only now but from the day I made this constituency as my first home”, Mr Rana told a huge gathering here after enthusiastic people took him in a procession amid beating of drums, sloganeering and dancing.
Mr Rana described his victory as a defining moment for development of the constituency, which he said, is a collective mission of the people of the area, irrespective of caste, creed or political affiliation. He said peoples’ yearning for development has been a great source of inspiration for him for the past seven years and it shall remain his motivation for the next six years. “Together, we shall march towards the destination we have prioritised for ourselves”, he told the cheering crowds, adding that with elections over, the attention should now focus on picking up the threads of development. “Rechristening Nagrota as Nava Jammu is a mission to accomplish with”, he maintained.
Mr Rana also expressed his gratitude to the people of Jammu region for their support to National Conference and said winning or losing apart, democracy has won in the State. “The support to National Conference has been endorsement to its commitment to secularism, unity and development of the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh”.
The Provincial President said that National Conference will continue to work for the upliftment of the people besides progress and prosperity of the state in whatever role it is destined to play.
