JAMMU, Dec 23: There was a jubilation in the city and its outskirts soon after the results of elections were declared with hundreds of BJP activists and supporters assembled before MAM College and ITI Jammu where votes were being counted. Soon after the declaration of results the victory processions were taken out by the Party activists in City and its outskirts.
The BJP activists busted crackers and took out the victory processions in entire city.
There was total festivity in BJP office from early in the morning after the trend of elections started. There was a bee line of BJP supporters and activists in Party office right from the morning and soon after the trends started coming in favour of Party from Jammu region, the jubilant activists danced to the beating of drums busted crackers and shouted slogans.
They distributed sweets and hugged each other as BJP created an electoral history for the first time in the State for itself by winning a record number of 25 Assembly seats from Jammu region out of 37.
The newly elected Party MLAs Sat Sharma from Jammu West, Kavinder Gupta from Gandhi Nagar, Rajesh Gupta from Jammu East, Bali Bhagat from Raipur Domana, Rajeev Sharma from Akhnoor, Dr Krishan Lal from Chamb were taken to Party office in open jeeps by their supporters. They were profusely garlanded, showered flowers and hugged by the party activists.
Terming the Party victory as historic, BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing the Partymen at Party Headquarters today gave Party’s landslide victory in Jammu region to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Party national president Amit Shah.
He said Mr Modi’s slogan of development clicked and people developed a trust in him that BJP will take the State on path of development. Reiterating his commitment that BJP is committed to welfare of the people and equitable development of all three regions of the State, he said Party will act as a watch dog for people’s interests.
The victory processions were also taken out in Marh by the supporters of Ch Sukhnandan, Muthi and other areas of Raipur Domana by the supporters of Bali Bhagat, RS Pura by the supporters of Dr Gagan Bhagat, Suchetgarh by the supporters of Ch Shyam, Akhnoor and Khour by the supporters of Rejeev Sharma and Dr Krishan Lal respectively.
Sat Sharma’s supporters also took out processions in Rehari, Sarwal and Subash Nagar while Rajeev Gupta’s supporters took out a grand procession from different areas of Jammu city that culminated in BJP Office.
BJYNM activists led by Ajay Pargal State general secretary of the Party took out a victory procession in Gandhi Nagar after the victory of Kavinder Gupta. Bharat Sharma and Ishant Gupta and Ankush Gupta other BJYM leaders also joined the procession.
Jubuilant BJP activists took out a huge procession in Samba and later took newly elected MLA Chander Parkash Ganga in a cavalcade of vehicles to his home town Sarore after he was declared elected to Assembly from Vijaypur Constituency.
A grand victory procession was also taken out by BJP activists and supporters of party candidate Devinder Kumar Manyal in Samba. The Party men distributed sweets, busted crackers and danced to the tune of beating of drums.
Another victory procession was held at Kathua where BJP won all the five Assembly seats of Kathua, Basohli, Hiranagar, Billawar and Bani. The jubilant Party men danced on drum beating and also busted crackers.
Talking to media persons BJP senior leader and MLA Billawar, Dr Nirmal Singh said that his first and foremost work will be to eliminate political terrorism from Billawar and restore the confidence of people in the political system. He said all wrongs done will be corrected and BJP will stick to its agenda of development of the area.
Victory processions were also taken by BJP activists in Ramnagar, Reasi, Chenani, Ramban, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah and Doda.
At Udhampur a grand victory procession was taken out by the supporters of independent candidate Pawan Gupta in the town. The merry making supporters of Mr Gupta busted crackers and also danced to the tune of beating of drums. He was taken in procession in the town by his supporters.
