Sir,
With deepest sorrow I want to bring it to the notice of the concerned authorities that a teacher is recruited to impart quality education to the students but how the authorities at the helm of affairs use the teacher is a matter of concern. The teacher is used as a multipurpose electronic device to perform a variety of functions and too without an incentive.
The teachers are generally diverted to conduct the various assignments like census, village level works, awareness rallies, management of mid day meals, etc. Only mid day meals is sufficient to divert the attention of a teacher from his actual work i.e teaching. Every day mid day meal is supplied to an average of forty students per school. Most of the time of the teachers is wasted in arrangement of ration, water and LPG which is adversely affecting the career of the students. All these assignments have also degraded the dignity of a teacher. The teacher feels like a home servant of a big private boss.
The teachers are also engaged in distributing medicines to the students. These medicines are supplied to all the Govt. Schools to improve the health of the students but instead of improvement of health of the students, the condition has worsened in several cases. As reported by some leading news papers, these medicines have adversely affected the students . Last week some students of Govt. Schools turned serious due to these medicines and the charges were straightway labelled against the teachers .
The teachers are meant to teach and improve the academic ability of the students. They must never be engaged in distribution of medicines to the students and the people as teachers are not trained for this purpose as it is the duty of the health and medical department. By taking such assignments, teachers feel socially low and ashamed off. So, teachers must only be engaged in raising the academic standards of the students so that they may not feel helpless and hapless . As quoted by Maharishi Vyas in Mahabharat-” Disrespect to the teachers leads to the disaster of a Nation.”
Yours etc…..
