SRINAGAR, Dec 24: A youth drowned in river Jehlum while extracting sand from the river at Barsoo, Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police spokesperson said that the deceased was identified as Gowhar Ahmad Dar, 22 son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar of Khenebugh, Awantipora.
The body of the youth was fished out and handed over to his next of kins for last rites.
