JAMMU, Dec 24: An Information Security workshop was organized by Department of Electronics & Communication at GCET.
The workshop, inaugurated by Principal Dr Sameru Sharma and attended by students as well as faculty members, was conducted by National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Jammu, as part of Deptt of Electronics and Information Technology (DEIT), MCIT, Govt of India initiative to make the citizen of the country aware of the Information security threat.
The key speaker for the workshop were Rajneesh Raina (STO), S K Sharma (TO) and D S Oberoi ( Scientist E) and the speaker covered the topics ranging from -Introduction to Information Security, risk, threats & vulnerabilities, Spyware, Anti-virus, Firewall, Browser, IM, Torrents, Downloads, Social networking, Netbanking, and Cloud computing.
