JAMMU, Dec 24: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu finalized the arrangements for the celebration of Prakash Utsav (Birthday of Shri Gobind Singh Ji) and Nagar Kirtan on the occasion of Gurupurab on January 7, 2015 in a meeting convened here today.
Divisional Commissioner was apprised regarding preparations made by the concerned departments for the procession, programmes to be held at the Gurudwaras and the main function which will be organized at Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Nagar.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, A.K. Sahu, DIG Shakeel Ahmed Beig, senior officers of police and civil administration besides representatives of Sikh organizations were present in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that the Nagar Kirtan would be taken out on January 5 and adequate security arrangements and traffic management would be ensured for smooth flow of traffic on the procession routes. Health Department has been directed to ensure adequate provision of medicare facilities
Jammu Municipal Corporation was asked to ensure mobile toilet vans, dust bins and sanitation of the procession route. PHE and PDD would ensure adequate supply of drinking water and uninterrupted power supply during the day.
Divisional Commissioner emphasized on maintaining coordination for smooth conduct of the festival. He urged the religious organizations to coordinate with the administration so as to celebrate the festival with traditional fervour and zeal.
