NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to greet him on his birthday and on being conferred the Bharat Ratna. The Modi government is celebrating Mr Vajpayee’s birthday as ‘Good Governance Day’.
Mr Vajpayee was yesterday awarded the county’s highest civilian honour. Bharat Ratna was also conferred posthumously on Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya.
Both share the December 25 as their birthday. The Prime Minister also paid tribute to Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya.
“A man ahead of his time, he devoted himself to nationalism and education”, the Prime Minister said. (AGENCIES)
