Tributes paid to Udham Singh on birth anniversary

JAMMU, Dec 26:  Rich tributes were paid to Shaheed Udham Singh on his birth anniversary today.
In this connection, J&K Freedom Fighters Association organized a function at Bal Niketan, Ved Mandir Ambphalla Jammu where speakers threw light on the supreme sacrifices made by Udham Singh and others during the freedom struggle.
Tej Ram Dogra, provincial president of PDF, who was chief guest on the occasion, appealed  youth to follow the teachings of  great freedom fighters and suggested that young generation should join active politics for creating new leadership.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included, Chander Shekhar Sharma, Rohit Bali, Prabhat Kapahi and M S Katoch.
Jammu Pragti Manch also organized a similar function under the chairmanship of Brij Mehra at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk where rich tributes  were paid to S Udham Singh on his birth anniversary.
Speakers on the occasion demanded that the school text books should have chapters on the life of freedom fighters like Udham Singh for making the new generation aware about their great sacrifices for the motherland.
Those who spoke, included Brij Mehra, Ramesh Tak, Sanjeev Gupta, Tejinder Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Ramesh Mehra, Neeraj, Manju, Ritu Gondi and others.
