JAMMU, Dec 27: BJP leader, Kuldeep Raj Dubey who contested elections on party ticket from Gool-Arnas, Assembly Segment, in Reasi district today accused his opponent Aijaz Ahmed Khan of Congress of resorting to unethical and unlawful practices to win the elections.
Addressing a press conference here today, the BJP candidate said Khan has won this election due to malpractices and completely violating the code of conduct. He demanded action under law against him so that the people of his Constituency can get justice.
While expressing his gratitude to the voters and supporters of the constituency, he said that it was due to the massive support of the people and grace of God that he, in first attempt, succeeded in getting more than 16000 votes.
He said his opponent had threatened the voters of dire consequences if they will not vote in his favour and he also used communal card to misguide the voters for which we have substantial proofs.
Dubey further said that few days earlier from the date of polling Khan also deputed some religious Ullama to Gool area of the Constituency to seek vote for him on communal lines.
Besides, Khan had exercised his influence on the polling staff and used them to pressurize voters to vote in his favour. “I have substantial proof of the same and the matter was reported to the concerned Election Observer, Deputy Commissioner and SSP Reasi”, Dubey added.
Dubey said that the voters of Gool-Arnas Constituency were getting reports from all the agencies that “I am going to win with a comfortable margin over my opponent candidate Khan” and when Khan came to know that he was losing the election, he resorted to unethical practices and tried to exploit voters on the name of religion.
“These were the few reasons because of which I lost this election”, Dubey said, and warned that he will proceed legally against Khan.
