JAMMU, July 27: Toshiba India announced its business plan to attain number 1 position in LED TV market in India.
Commenting on the occasion, Shigenori Tokumitsu, Corporate Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President, Digital Products and Services Company, Toshiba Corporation said that for Toshiba Corporation India is a strategic market, poised towards high growth trajectory. India is a growing market with a high potential, which is why they are making investments in building the branch and expanding their sales and network, he added.
He said that in FY 11 while the industry growth was flat, they witnessed a seven fold year on year growth in their flat panel TV sales. Continuing further of their growth trajectory, they aim to become number one player in the LED segment in India, he added.
Our aim is to increase our market share to 15 percent in FY 2013, by being at the forefront of driving the transition from LCD to LED flat panel television. We are geared up to support the launch of new product with a very aggressive marketing campaign and like last year, Toshiba will be among the top advertisers in the industry this year, said Tengguo Wu, Director, DS Division, Toshiba India.
He said that the entire business strategy by Toshiba’s wide led TV portfolio enables customers to choose the best LED TV from them. Toshiba now has a complete range of LED TV models, with the screen sizes ranging from 48 cm (19) to 140 cm (55) available between Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,00,000, he maintained.
