JAMMU, Dec 28: Vichar Kranti Manch International (VKMI) today celebrated its 8th Foundation Day at Channi Himmat.
Prof SP Wadehra, a prominent educationist was the chief guest while Muni Lal Gupta, a social activist presided over the function.
In his welcome address, Ram Gopal Sharma, vice-president, VKMI, explained about the activities of the Manch i.e. free Homeopathic dispensary, adoption of 20 schools for inculcation of moral and ethical values, 3-months Certificate course on moral and spiritual values duly approved by Jammu University, celebration of National and International Days, organizing peace conferences, etc.
SK Jain, president, VKMI, while speaking on the occasion stressed upon the need of moral values in day to day life for which the Manch has also opened branches in various areas. Various projects such as widow pension scheme and 3-month Yoga course to be taken up in the coming year, were also discussed with the members.
Members also gave many valuable suggestions for promotion of aims and objectives of the Manch. Dr Usha Tickoo, senior vice-president of the Manch, suggested to start parents interaction workshops in different educational institutions and offered her college to start this activity.
Muni Lal Gupta suggested to start special career oriented Yoga courses and to activate the women cell of the Manch for promoting moral education at grass root level.
Besides other participants, the members of the executive body namely Yash Pal Sharma, Giat Nandan Jain, Ashok Kohli and Jatinder Sharma were present.
Chander Mohan Sharma, general secretary, conducted the proceedings of the programme and presented vote of thanks.
