RAJOURI, Dec 29: Residents of Kotranka area held protest demonstration against CAPD authorities for the shortage of ration while another protest was witnessed near Salani bridge in Rajouri town against shortage of LPG today.
Reports said that about 150 people from Kotranka and adjoining areas assembled in the main bazaar and held protest demonstration. They were alleging scarcity of ration in the area. They shouted slogans against TSO Kotranka, Assistant Director, Rajouri and Director CAPD Jammu. The locals alleged that neither routine APL/ BPL or the other free ration quota as announced by the Government during floods and rains, was being made available to the public. The people were being forced to purchased ration from the open market. The SHO and Tehsildar concerned pacified the agitating people who then dispersed.
Another protest took place near Salani bridge Rajouri where consumers who had gathered at the LPG outlet were left high and dry. They started protest demonstration against the Administration. The people alleged that they were standing in the long queue since early morning but the LPG was not available. The SHO and DySP then reached there and asked people not to block the road. They disrupted traffic for about 30 minutes. Later, truck loaded with LPG cylinders arrived from Jammu at around 1.30 pm and the supply was made available to the public.
