MENDHAR, Dec 31: The police arrested three persons for creating violence and attack on policemen at Mendhar town today.
Those arrested have been identified as Mohd Ayaz, son of Mohd Bashir; Maqsood Ahmed, son of Ghulam Rasool and Ali Akbar, son of Ghulam Rasool, all residents of Chak Banola in Chhatral. One Zaffar Ahmed was still absconding. An FIR has been registered against them.
Reports said they beat up Nazakat Hussain, PSO of SDM Mendhar when their Alto car No. 8251/JK-12 hit cop’s bike at around 3 pm in the town. During altercation, these car borne boys beat up PSO and torn his uniform. Later, when police men in the area came to know about the matter, they ran towards site these youth who sported by others resorted to stone pelting on cops and made them to flee.
Later, the SHO along with police party arrested three accused persons and registered a case against them. The SPO was removed to hospital for Medical examination.
