Shopkeeper attacked with sharp edged weapon, 3 arrested

JAMMU, Jan 1: A shopkeeper received serious injuries in his abdomen after being attacked with sharp edged weapon by a group of drunken persons in Kangrail area, falling under the jurisdiction of Kanachack police station. However, Kanachack police managed to arrest three accused and manhunt was going on to arrest others.
As per police sources, a group of persons namely Sohag and his brother Sourab, sons of Shamsher Singh Manhas of Patta Khoo and Ajay Kumar and his brother Naresh Kumar, sons of Yougil kishore, residents of Kangrail were consuming liquor in Kangrail area of Kanachack to celebrate New Year. After getting heavily drunk, they had some altercation over some issue.
A nearby shopkeeper namely Suresh Sharma, son of Harbans Lal, a resident Kangrail tried to pacify them and in the mean time, the drunk persons attacked the shopkeeper with sharp edged weapon.
On getting information, police team from Kanachack police station rushed to the spot and shifted the shopkeeper who received injury in his abdomen to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where his condition was stated to be out of danger, when reports last came in.
After registering a case under FIR number 1/15 with Kanachack police station, manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific inputs, police team from Kanachack police station conducted a raid and arrested three persons from a hideout. Two arrested accused have been identified as Sohag and Ajay Kumar, while identity of the third accused was yet to be ascertain.
However, manhunt was going on to nab the remaining accused.
