Sir,
I would like to welcome the new Government which shall take its oath with in coming days and wish for their success in giving good governance to the people of Jammu and Kashmir State.
The challenges of pensioners and Government employees before the new Government are numerous and many. Amongst them which need top priority are :-
* Release of 17 percent DA in favour of Government employees and pensioners due from January, 2014.
* Enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to 1000.
* Regularisation of all daily, consolidated, adhoc and casual employees who have completed their seven years regular service on a particular post.
* Removal of pay anomolies of clerical cadre.
* Last but not the least is merger of 50 percent DA in the basic pay of employees and pensioners.
It is hoped that in order to gear up its ‘machinery’ for fulfilling the poll promises, the burning issues of employees and pensioners shall be conceded to without any further thought and delay. The first Cabinet meeting of the new Government should greet the employees and the pensioners as gift on the eve of new year by fulfilling their above just and genuine demands.
