DB orders restoration of security at houses of retd HC Judges

JAMMU, Jan 2: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur today ordered restoration of security at the residential houses of retired Judges of the High Court.
The order was passed in a petition filed by Advocate Jaspinder Singh.
After hearing Advocate Ajay Sharma appearing for the applicant, DB observed, “this is an application highlighting the withdrawal of security guards on December 31, 2014 from the houses of retired High Court Judges”. Accordingly, DB issued notice to State, which was accepted by Senior AAG Gagan Baostra.
“The security guards present at the residential houses of the retired High Court Judges shall continue as they were on or before 31.12.2014”, the DB directed, adding “a comprehensive reply shall be filed bringing on record the policy of the State and the objective criteria to make assessment of threat perceptions. The needful shall be done a week before the adjourned date”.
