3 killed, 3 injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Jan 4: Three persons were killed while three others including a two year old child injured today in separate road mishaps in different parts of Jammu region.
According to a police spokesperson, a motorcyclist namely Vikas Gupta of Devipur (Akhnoor) died on the spot while his wife, Vandana Gupta (28) and their two years old son, Vardan Gupta suffered injuries when a bus bearing registration No JK02F-1227 hit their motorcycle at old Muthi near Jourian.
The accident occurred this evening when the speeding bus going from Jammu to Akhnoor hit the motorcycle bearing registration No JK02AH-1802 coming from opposite side. The dead body of the deceased was shifted to Government Hospital, Jourian for post mortem while the injured mother and son were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment. The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
A 25 years old youth identified as Rohit Sharma son of Sham Lal, a resident of Akhnoor also received serious injuries when the scooter he was riding on, was hit by a load carrier at Sua No 1 near Akhnoor, tonight. In critical condition, he was rushed to GMCH Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The concerned police has registered a case in this concern and started investigations.
In another incident, an unknown car hit a pedestrian near Bathindi morh this afternoon following which he was rushed to GMCH Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries this evening. The deceased has been identified as Mohd Sharif (35) while other details about him could not be ascertained yet. The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
In New Plot area of city outskirts, a rashly driven car tonight hit a bike resulting into minor injuries to bike rider, Sunny Kumar (20). The injured Sunny was shifted to Government Hospital Sarwal from where later he was discharged after providing first aid. The concerned police has registered a case in this regard and seized the bike involved in the accident while the identity of the car and its driver could not be ascertained.
