CBI presents challan against Chief Branch Manager BoB, others

JAMMU, Jan 5: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today presented two different challans against TR Dogra, the then Chief Manager Bank of Baroda, Jaswant Singh, the then Credit Officer Bank of Baroda, Hem Raj Phonsa, Property Valuer, Manzoor Hussain and Said Mohd for committing fraud with the bank.
According to the CBI case, Manzoor Hussain had secured loan from Gandhi Nagar branch of Bank of Baroda for beekeeping on his own name and the names of his family members. For securing huge loans, Manzoor had produced fake documents of land mortgage.
During investigations, CBI detected that such a fraud would not have been possible without the involvement of the bank officials as the documents produced by Manzoor Hussain were forged and fake. He had kept stamps in his house, which were seized.
CBI also seized number of important and incriminating documents from the house of Manzoor as well as bank officials, some of whom have retired. After completion of investigation, CBI presented challan in the court under Sections 120-B/420/468/471 RPC and 5(2) read with Section 5(1) (d) J&K PC Act 2006.
