Jammu, Jan 6: Rigzin Spalbar, CEC/Chairman LAHDC, Leh during his visit to Dehradun, had a detailed discussion with the Executive Director of Ratan Tata Trust, Dr. Malvika Chauhan, at their Himmothan office.
He shared various development efforts being made in Ladakh region under the Ladakh Vision Document 2025 in promotion of solar energy, pashmina goat breeding and value addition, Yak breeding, fodder development, pashmina herders development, apricot and organic agriculture development.
Dr. Malvika expressed keenness to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with LAHDC, Leh as done in Uttarakhand and consider joint efforts in development of seabuck thorn value addition, livelihood development related projects on dry apricot value addition, artificial glacial deposits, sheep and pashmina value addition and setting up institutional mechanism for trans-himalayan livelihood activities as incorporated in Ladakh Vision Document 2025.
Also present on the occasion were Dr. R S Tolia, President Integrated Mountain Initiative and other functionaries of Tata Trust.
