JAMMU, Jan 8: Harshdev Singh, JKNPP chairman and former Minister has expressed grave concern over the latest reported decision of US Govt. to grant a fresh lot of $ 532 million aid to Pakistan under Kerry-Lugar Bill after lauding its “Counter-terrorism initiatives”.
He regretted that the reported announcement of financial aid made by US Secretary of State John Kerry has not been proactively opposed by the NDA Govt despite such funding having been used by Pakistan in the past for promoting terror on Indian soil.
He said that Pakistan’s mis-adventures and its wicked credentials including ceasefire violations, border incursions, pushing in of indoctrinated traitors, Porbander-ship episode besides its support and shelter to several terrorist outfits needs to be viewed seriously and taken up vociferously and vigorously with the international community especially the US.
Expressing grave concern over the persistent heavy firing and mortar shelling from across the border by Pakistan during the last nine months, Singh said that it has virtually created a war like situation which could lead to a dangerous denouement and should be an eye-opener for the BJP led Govt at the Centre.
He said that the world community must be apprised of the piquant situation on the Indian borders where more than 15000 families all along the192 Km IB have been disturbed and uprooted.
Mr Harsh further said that not only that the ferocity of ceasefire violations has increased during the last couple of days after Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind Mumbai Mayhem was spotted near the borders and was reported to be in touch with Pak rangers.
He said there were inputs that more than more than 2000 militants had been brought on the launch pads and Pak forces were trying to assist them to cross over the Indian side for raising the level of violence ahead of US President Barack Obama’s visit to India.
He accused the BJP led Govt of having failed in convincing US about the wicked designs of Pakistan.
He further called upon the NDA Govt to persuade US to mount pressure on Pakistan to break the nexus between the Army and the extremists.
