JAMMU, Jan 8: The 349th Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj was celebrated with gaiety and religious fervor by the Parbandhak Committee, Gurudwara Baba Chanda Singh Ji, Jain Bazar, Jammu the other day.
On the occasion an impressive `Kirtan Darbar’ was organized in the Gurudwara Baba Chanda Singh Ji, Jain Bazar by the Prabandhak Committee of the Gurdwara, in which Sangat from surrounding areas of Jammu city thronged to offer prayers. The cold wave failed to dampen the spirit of the devotees who reached Gurudwara early in the morning to offer prayers. A free community Langar (Guru ka langar) was also organised for the devotees.
Bhai Harbans Singh, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Singh and S Parveen Singh, recited the Gurbani Kirtan. Speaking on the occasion Sukhbir Singh demanded that election of District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committees be immediately held so that constituted committee should function in the better interest of Sikh community, the name of Kunjwani Chowk be named as Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Chowk and minority community status be granted to the Sikh community.
The Committee members also supported the hunger strike of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa as he is on fast since November 14, 2014. They stressed upon the Government to release the political prisoners of the community, whose sentence has already been completed.
