Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee organizes ‘Peace March’

POONCH, Jan 9: Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee organized a “Silence Peace March” here.
Carrying placards and raising slogans in favour of their demands, hundreds of people from Sikh community participated in this peace march, which passed through main bazaar and culminated in the premises of District Deputy Commissioner (DDC) Office. The peace march was headed by president of Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.
The participants of the peace march also extended full support to Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who was sitting on fast-unto-death for the release of Sikh political prisoners.
A memorandum was submitted to DDC Poonch with the request to pass on the same to Prime Minister and Union Home Minister for immediate redressal to their demands.
In the memorandum, the Sikh community people demanded release of more than 100 Sikh political prisoners languishing in various jails in Punjab under rehabilitation policy already introduced in some other States including J&K.
Among others present were Suranjan Singh, Onkar Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Daljeet Singh and Balwinder Singh.
