JAMMU, Jan 10: Vice Chairperson, Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Sushma Chauhan today chaired the contract committee meeting in connection with the review of the infrastructure projects for the newly created colonies at Birpur, Kot Bhalwal and Gole-Gujral.
She stressed upon the Engineering Wing of JDA to speed up the on-going developmental works of water facility, electricity, road networks and training of nallahs on war-footing as the successful allottees have already started making payments for taking possession of the plots.
She gave particular stress at the training of nallahs taking into view the recent devastating floods in J&K and set a time-line of four months for the executing agencies to complete the projects.
It is worthwhile to mention that the JDA had created three colonies in Gole-Gujral, Birpur and Kot-Bhalwal area consisting of around 1600 plots late last year to provide affordable housing to the people.
Now, in a very short span, the JDA is already for handing over the possession of these plots to the allottees. Further, JDA is spending around Rs 40 crore for the development of these colonies with special focus on roads, water and electricity.
Those who attended the meeting included the Director Land Management, Secretary JDA, Chief Town Planner, SE, XEns of Division 1 and 2 , Director Finance and Legal Assistant.
