Srinagar, Jan 10: The employees of Handicrafts Department of Anantnag and Pulwama have expressed serious concern over the continuous absence of their Assistant Director from his duties from the last 20 days, saying the absence is severely affecting the department and the employees’ work.
General Secretary of the Joint Action Committee of the Development Commissioner Handicrafts Ashfaq Ahmad Mir in a release said that whenever the concerned officer attends the office, he “harasses” the employees without any reason.
“Whenever the concerned officer visits the office he only makes field trips to simply earn TA and forcefully uses the vehicles of the employees. He also, without any grounds and to satisfy his ego, threatens employees by issuing their “Adjustment orders” to suppress them,” Mir alleged.
The Union has appealed to the Development Commissioner to look into the matter to save the department from complete collapse and paralysis.
Among others, Secretary Farooq Ahmad, Vice President Ghulam Hassan, Office Secretary Khursheed Ahmad Dar and office bearers of Pulwama and Anantnag also supported the general secretary’s voice.
