SRINAGAR, Jan 11: To commemorate 67th Army Day falling on January 15, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles unit in Lolab alongwith medical authorities organized a medical-cum-veterinary camp at Gund Manchhar, Lolab to alleviate the hardships of local populace in remote areas.
Three medial officers, four nursing assistants and two veterinary nursing assistants from Army alongwith two medical officers and two veterinary doctors from Civil Health Department treated 418 patients and 160 animals.
The experts also took lectures to make the youth of the area aware about ill effects of drug abuse, benefits of family planning and precautions to be taken against AIDS.
People of Lolab turned up in huge numbers not only to get themselves treated but also cleared their doubts and listened to the lectures given by experts.
Another attraction of the camp was distribution of leaflets and literature on subjects related to health, hygiene and precaution and cure of diseases.
Sarpanch of Gund Manchhar, AR Wani and Commander 8 Sector were also present.
