JAMMU, Jan 15: Police authorities today constituted a Special Investigating Team (SIT) in the mysterious death of BJP leader and former IGP Farooq Khan’s foster son Fahad Mir in Gandhi Nagar few days back.
A BMW reportedly involved in hitting Polo car being driven by Fahad Mir has been seized, police said.
The SIT will be headed by SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh and comprised Inspector Parvez Sajjad and Sub Inspector Sohit Trikha.
Reports said the BMW had been driven away to Ludhiana by Akshit Ganju, who owned it. The SIT had taken the BMW into custody for investigations.
The SIT was constituted on the complaint of Fahad Mir’s mother, Ruchi, who suspected foul play in the accident.
Police said four to five youth including sons of serving and retired police and civil officers were travelling in the BMW. It was yet to be ascertained whether it was an accident or BMW had deliberately hit the Polo vehicle in which Fahad Mir was killed and two others were injured.
Further investigations were being carried out by the SIT.
