NEW DELHI, Jan 16: Senior vice president of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and former Minister Abdul Ghani Vakil today called on AICC president Sonia Gandhi in the Union capital here and briefed her about the current socio-political situation in the State.
Mr Vakil apprised the party president in detail on the organizational matters and party performance in recently held Assembly elections. Mr Vakil put-forth before Congress president some important suggestions for strengthening the rejuvenating the party in the State.
Mrs Gandhi endorsed the view point put forward by Vakil and reiterated her resolve that the Congress would continue to remain in the service of the people to promote their over all development, peace and progress. She assured Mr Vakil that all necessary steps would be taken to strengthen Congress party in the J&K State.
