JAMMU, Jan 17: Principal Sessions Judge Poonch, Jaffer Hussain Beigh today rejected the bail application of Army official namely Gurmail Singh of Poonch, who committed rape upon prosecutrix and also prepared video clips during the sexual intercourse and then hosted the same on internet.
“The petitioner, an Army official, is not an illiterate person that he did not know the pros and cons of the shameful act he, as per prosecution, has committed”, the court said, adding “instead of giving protection to woman he has committed condemnation act with her”.
“The public confidence in the judicial system shall get shaked if in such cases bail is granted in casual manner as there was the condemnation from the society at large and thus the large interest of the public cannot be sacrificed”, the court said while rejecting the bail application.
