JAMMU, Jan 18: Sant Nirankari Charitable Dispensary today organized a voluntary blood donation camp at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Bishnah, where more than 100 units of blood were donated by the devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission.
The camp was inaugurated by R C Puri, Regional Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society while Kamal Arora, MLA Bishnah, Dr Meena, Dr Naveen from Blood Bank, GMC Jammu and several prominent citizens of the town were also present.
The camp was held in collaboration with Blood and Transfusion Department of Government Medical College, Jammu, Indian Red Cross Society and JKSACS.
Ajit Singh, zonal incharge of Sant Nirankari Mandal, said that even though basically the Mission is a spiritual movement, it has been making a significant contribution towards social welfare activities also.
He said that while launching the series in 1986, Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj had said that ‘Blood should flow in veins and not in drains.’
