NEW DELHI : A thick blanket of fog descended on the national capital here this morning disrupting normal life and affecting over 30 flights and 61 trains.
According to MeT department, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.4 degree Celsius, two notches above normal and three degrees higher than yesterday’s 6.4 degree Celsius. Visibility remained less than 50 meters at 8:30 AM while humidity levels were registered at 97 per cent.
According to the official website of Delhi airport, four flights were cancelled and 27 flights – both incoming and outgoing were delayed due to adverse weather conditions.
Also, 61 trains were running behind schedule including Rajdhani trains coming from Patna, Ranchi, Bhubaneshwar, Hawra among others.
Weatherman predicted a mainly clear sky during the day while the maximum temperature is expected to settle around 21 degree Celsius.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature settled at 21.6 degree Celsius which was one degree above the normal for this time of the season. (AGENCIES)
