JAMMU, Jan 21: High Court today rejected the bail application of Gurbachan Singh Dutta, one of the Directors of Dutta Financers, who have cheated the depositors of their hard earned money.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Waheed Choudhary appearing for the petitioner whereas Senior Advocate SS Lehar with Advocate Mehraban Singh for the innocent depositors, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal observed, “bail in such a case cannot be granted even on health grounds because a person having remained involved in a business which allegedly led to duping of number of poor persons cannot suddenly be heard pleadings his old age or poor health to escape the legal consequences”.
With these observations, High Court rejected the bail application.
