JAMMU, Jan 21: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked Som Nath, the then Assistant Director (Handicrafts), Pawan Ji Raina, the then Investigator M&SEC Jammu and Aditya Parwar, President of M/s Pooja Welfare Society for misappropriation of more than Rs 15 lakh.
According to the CBI case, Pooja Welfare Society, which was operational in the villages of district Jammu, was sanctioned different projects/ workshops from Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Union Ministry of Textiles.
Som Nath, the then AD (H) Jammu of Marketing Service Extension Center was responsible for proper implementation of workshops/ projects. However, the officer in connivance with NGO and unknown persons siphoned off Government funds to the tune of Rs 15 29, 5000.
The officials by abusing their official position used forged documents and caused wrongful loss to the Govt exchequer.
