SRINAGAR, Jan 21: Police arrested a green gold smuggler from Shopian forest division.
As per police sources, on reliable information, Keller police team led by SHO Ferooz Ahmad Yatoo conducted a raid in Khaddar forest area of Shopian and arrested one green gold smuggler on the spot.
The arrested person has been identified as Abdul Hamid Paray of Zampathri Keller. The accused was carrying around 200 square feet of fresh forest wood on his horse for clandestine delivery to his client.
Police also seized the smuggled forest wood and a horse.
A case under Section 379 RPC and 6 Forest Act has been registered and investigation started.
