DC Samba gets Census Silver Medal

 Excelsior Correspondent SAMBA, Jan 23: Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Mubarak Singh has been selected for Census Silver Medal which was decided by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi for successfully and timely accomplishing the task in the district.  The award will be conferred upon by the President of India in recognition of the outstanding zeal and high quality of service rendered by him during the Census of India, 2011 and shall be presented to him during the function for celebration of Republic Day at Samba by the Directorate of Census Operations, J&K. It was informed that Census 2011 was 15th since 1872 and seventh after independence and it has been a tradition with the Census Organization to award Silver and Bronze Medals and Certificates of Honour from the President of India to various census functionaries.
