JAMMU, Jan 23: To review the progress made under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes in Jammu district, District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, who is also Chairman of the Committee.
The meeting was attended by Members of Legislative Assembly Sukhnandan Chowdhary, Sham Chowdhary, Kavinder Gupta, Sat Pal Sharma, Dr. Gagan Bhagat, Dr. Krishan Lal Bhagat, Rajeev Sharma, District Development Commissioner Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Additional District Development Commissioner, G.S. Balwan, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Suram Chand Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, Girdhari Lal Sharma besides senior officers of various departments, Panchs and Sarpanchs.
Reviewing physical and financial progress registered under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Jugal Kishore laid emphasis on close coordination and synergy among different departments to achieve the set targets. He directed the concerned agencies to expedite the pace of development projects so that the benefit of these welfare programmes percolate down to the deserving. He asked the officers concerned to keep their activities at maximum so that funds allocated for the purpose are utilized in judicious manner for early completion of the vital projects.
He also impressed upon the officers to conduct periodical touring and ensure close monitoring of the ongoing projects to attain quality parameters and effective implementation of schemes.
Threadbare review was held on implementation of Indira Awas Yojna (IAY), National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), RGGVY, PMGSY, MGNREGA, NRDWP, IWMP, NRLM, Mid Day Meal schemes.
The MLAs discussed in detail the status of various development works being carried out in their respective constituencies and emphasized speedy completion of the same.
Earlier, DDC Jammu gave a detailed account of the physical and financial achievement registered during the current year under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and programmes launched in the district through power point presentation.
