Secy MSME interacts with Industrial Associations

JAMMU, Jan 23: Secretary, MSME, Government of India, Madav Lal had a detailed interaction with the representatives of various Industrial Associations of Jammu division at Udyog Bhawan here today.
The interaction was convened in the backdrop of the Prime Minister’s slogans Make in India, Digital India and Clean India aimed to identify and find out the solution of the problems of the entrepreneurs.
Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, senior officers from Industries and Commerce, SICOP, SIDCO besides the Members of the Industrial Associations, including Chamber of Commerce, Jammu were present on the occasion.
The Association members apprised the Secretary, MSME about the problems and suggested several measures for smooth running of their business besides establishment of new units. The issues they raised included proper implementation of guidelines/schemes of MSME, revisiting of cluster development, infrastructure development, land acquisition, late payments, procurement policy, incentive, development and establishment of Industrial Estates.
Madav Lal said that the interaction gave him an opportunity to know the problems of the industrial units. He said MSME Ministry has taken several initiatives to ease the process for establishment of industrial units. He said like other parts of the country Industries Association should also take steps for setting up of industrial units for which the Government will extend every help in making their work easy.
Secretary MSME said that IT intervention has become imperative in present industrial revolution and suggested to Association members to acquire the service of professionals in designing their project plans. He said the IT intervention can improve the quality of work and products as well.
Highlighting the importance and market demand of service sector, he said there are ample avenues available in service sector rather manufacturing.
Financial Commissioner, while responding to issues raised by the Association, said that every effort is being made to ease the problems of industrial unit holders.
“There are certain difficulties in this sector”, he agreed and said that Government has already constituted two committees, Apex Committee, headed by Chief Secretary and the Monitoring Committee, headed by FC I&C  aimed to make easy doing the business. He impressed upon the members to improve the quality of the work so that State can get best position in this field.
Besides other issues, Ghati Industrial Estate and functioning of State Facilitation Council also came up for discussion.
