JAMMU, Jan 23: BJP Freedom Fighters & Martyrs Cell under its State Convenor Bharat Bhushan Sharma, organized a programme at Party Headquarters here today to celebrate the birthday of Subash Chander Bose.
BJP National Executive Member & former State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, along with State vice-president Col.(retd) Uttam Singh, State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, Veteran Goa Freedom Fighter Pt. Atma Ram Sharma, garlanded the portrait of Subash Chander Bose and lighted the lamp.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, while speaking on the occasion, said that our country has the distinction of being a nation of great patriots, who laid down their lives for the cause of the nation and the society. The lives of such people are institutions in themselves and the young generations should take inspiration. He said that Subash Chander Bose worked without any greed or any post and by the dint of commitment for cause got him the distinction of being called Netaji, who lived and died for the nation.
Ashok Kaul, while thanking the BJP freedom fighters & Martyrs Cell for organizing the programme, said that such occasions remind us about the cruelties being resorted on our people by British, which finally resulted into bringing the patriotic people together to throw it out and get freedom. “Subash Chander Bose, who was a great organizer, worked as a revolutionary to mobilize public to fight the British vigorously by leaving the luxuries of life for the sake of motherland”, Kaul added.
Pt. Atma Ram Sharma said Subash Chander Bose went to the people with the slogan of Swaraj and said that only slogans will not liberate the country from the clutches of slavery and stressed that united efforts were need to give a strong blow to British and get motherland freed.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by district general secretary Surinder Choudhary and Freedom Fighters & Martyrs district. convenor Ashok Mishra thanked the party activists.
