JAMMU, Jan 27: Eight days Model Training Course (MTC) on “Agricultural Marketing reforms through Contract Farming for Increasing Productivity and Income of Farming Community”, began today at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu.
The course has been sponsored by Directorate of Extension, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt of India and is being organized by the Division of Agricultural Economics & Statistics, Faculty of Agriculture at SKUAST-Jammu, Chatha.
The training programme is being attended by around 30 participants of Agricultural Departments from within and outside the State. Dr K S Risam, Director Extension, SKUAST-J was the chief guest on the occasion. He discussed the scope of contract farming in Indian perspective and informed about the Government schemes and policies which would supplement the adoption of contract farming.
Dr S E H Rizvi, Course Director highlighted the main themes to be covered during the eight days of training programme.
