UDHAMPUR, Jan 28: A pedestrian was knocked to death by an unidentified vehicle on the National Highway near Tikri.
The deceased has been identified as Ashok Kumar (32) son of Sant Ram of Malhad in Udhampur. He was found lying on the road and some local shifted him to hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Meanwhile, a young housewife attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at the house of her in-laws at village Kagot in Ramnagar, last night.
According to the police reports, Pushpa Devi (31), wife of Beli Ram of Kagot in Ram Nagar, consume some poisons substance under mysterious circumstances and fell unconscious. Family members shifted her to PHC Kagot where doctors referred her to GMC hospital Jammu in view of her critical condition.
