BLSKS stages musical play “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao”

JAMMU, Jan 31: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sanasthan (BLSKS) staged 35th Musical Play “Beti Bachao- Beti  Padhao” in collaboration with  Unison Cultural Troupe & ESRM as part of its regular feature  at 197-Durga Bhawan Janipur Jammu.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest V. K. Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate  of Field Publicity, Government of India, Dr. Anju Dogra from Health Department, J&K Government & Vinod Dogra Chief  Service Engineer, Excise were the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest lauded the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan-(NGO) and underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama which are still very powerful medium of communication.
Mr Magotra also urged the artists/cultural Organizations to contribute in enriching the cultural heritage of the country and inspiring the younger generation to follow the footprints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the Nation.
“Beti Bachao- Beti  Padhao”   Musical Play written, produced and directed by M.L.Dogra (Chairman BLSKS) reflects the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advise of intellectuals of the society. The   marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride & groom miserable even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby. The cries of baby girl in womb of the mother caution all of us in the society, “Don’t kill me. I will be your helping hand in old age.”The  song  sung by the artits are “Dhiyan Gi Na Marro”, “Baiman Lok kase Diya mar De”, “Sun -Sun Saheli Meri Sun, Paruhn Likhu yehi Meri Dhun”, ” Kya Pier  Kahun  Apne mann Ki” & the music was assisted by renowned  singer  Raju Bajgal
The singers ,musician and actors who performed were Usha Handoo, Rajni Gupta, Neelam Gangotra, Hemraj, Shivani Disgotra, Raju Bajgal (Instrument), Sunil Kumar  (Dholak / Singer), Deevam Jandiyal (Tabla), Rakshit Sharma, Dhruv Pandit ,Bodh Raj, Pooja Loach, Samarth Gupta, Sanam Gupta, Abhyud, Rajveer,  Kanta Sharma, Bhanu Partap, Ganshyam Yadav,  Vandana Gupta, Anantika Sharma, Shival Kumar, L-Danika, Bhumika Chib, Ayush Bhat, Rahul Wanchoo, Mohd. Afroz  and programme  coordinator  Master  Deepak Kumar.
