Air Marshal Jolly takes over charge of Southern Air Command

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, July 31:
Air Marshal RK Jolly assumed charge as the Air Officer Commanding in Chief Southern Air Command (SAC) here today.
The Air Marshal succeeds Air Marshal SP Singh who retired from the Indian Air Force (IAF) after 38 years of  service.
An official release said Air Marshal Jolly commissioned into the IAF in July 1975 is an experienced fighter pilot who has flown a variety of aircrafts which include Hunter, Marut, all variants of Mig 21 and has over 3,800 hours of flying in the IAF.
He is also a Qualified Flying Instructor. The Air Marshal’s important tenures include being Air Attache at Embassy of India in Washington DC and Senior Air Staff Officer at South Western Air Command and Southern Air  Command.
The Air Marshal has also commanded a Mig 21 Squadron and
A forward fighter base. Earlier Air Marshal SP Singh inspected a Guard of Honour before he was pulled out ceremoniously in a vehicle by the senior officers with all personnel of SAC lined up on either side and bidding him  farewell.(UNI)
