ISLAMABAD : Six militants with links to the Taliban were arrested today from different parts of Pakistan’s national capital during search operations, police said.
The security forces conducted intelligence-led raids at suburban areas of Turnol, Bara Kahu and Shahzad Town, which are known for having hideouts of militants.
“The arrested men are associated with Taliban chapter of Mohmand tribal region and they have been shifted to a secret location for questioning,” a police official said.
Islamabad is considered to be on the hit-list of militants as it is the nerve center of the government.
At least 11 people, including additional sessions judge, were killed and 29 others injured in March last year during a gun and bomb attack in a court complex in Islamabad. (AGENCIES)
